FAQ
Q. What is Colon Hydrotherapy?
Colon Hydrotherapy is a gentle method of using filtered water to cleanse the large intestine of impacted waste and gas.
Q. Is Colon Hydrotherapy painful?
The treatment should NOT hurt. Cramping may occur as the colon contracts to expel an abundance of gas or impaction. Once the obstruction is released, many find the session pleasant and relaxing. To minimize any discomfort, follow the dietary guidelines outlined under Therapy Preparation Protocol.
Q. How will I feel after a session?
Most clients indicate a sense of lightness and clarity of mind, as well as feeling more energized or peaceful after Colon Hydrotherapy. On rare occasion, if there is a longstanding condition such as constipation, a slight headache or fatigue may be experienced. In this case, proper rest is recommended – supplemented by a follow-up session within one week.
Q. Can I resume normal activities afterwards?
Feel free to go about your day (i.e., work, exercise, travel, etc.). Colon Hydrotherapy has a profound cleansing effect on the body. Clients may feel so renewed afterwards that they are inclined to increase their workout routine. Caution is advised here, for it can be overdone.
Q. How many sessions are required?
This depends on your goals. It has taken years to create the condition you are experiencing today. One has to factor in body condition, how well you respond during treatment, and the possible need for lifestyle changes. Your therapist will be able to advise you on the frequency and number of sessions that may be right for you.
Q. Is Colon Hydrotherapy habit forming?
On the contrary, Colon Hydrotherapy exercises, tones and strengthens the colon muscles. The use of filtered water to gently fill and empty the colon improves peristalsis (muscular contraction) by which the colon naturally moves matter. This in turn, helps to restore and/or maintain bowel regularity.
Q. Will Colon Hydrotherapy remove beneficial bacteria?
Cleansing the colon of putrefied waste and gas helps create a favorable environment in which beneficial bacteria can thrive.
Q. Is Colon Hydrotherapy advisable during my menstrual cycle?
It is perfectly fine for menstruating women to receive Colon Hydrotherapy. It is helpful in relieving symptoms that may accompany menstruation – cramps, bloating, headache, etc. and does not interfere with the menstrual cycle.
